Your First Step to Personalized Nutrition Protocols
Many of my clients feel they have been following “generalized nutrition advice” and it’s helped them, but they want to understand their unique body’s needs. Functional labs can help us do that. And while the gut (GI-Map) and hormone (DUTCH) panels are helpful to look at, actually don’t recommend starting with these. See the gut and hormones are actually more “downstream” body systems. What is upstream? Let me explain.
The top layer of the Body Systems Overview is what we need to address first. This will help bring all the rest of the endocrine responses and physical symptoms closer to a state of balance or homeostasis.
Body Systems Overview
For example:
To address the neurological system, we incorporate subconscious reprogramming, community as a form of co-regulation, a focus on balancing your healthy feminine with your healthy masculine and cultivating a trust in God’s power to heal you.
To address the autonomic nervous system we look at your habits and routines. We find small, realistic swaps for habits like rushing everything, cutting sleep, eating too fast and SO many more. We help you recover better from your workouts.
For supporting the metabolic system, this is a big reason we look at nutrients on the HTMA test and in blood testing. Of course we also start by improving digestion and prioritizing nutrient dense, whole foods.
We run my Foundations Panel first because each test on there has been strategically selected for the women I work with. Each test will be connected back to the top layer of the Body Systems Overview and your protocol.
This panel isn’t about chasing symptoms, it’s about uncovering the why behind your weight loss plateaus, fatigue, bloating, breakouts, anxiety, irregular cycles, or brain fog. The foundations labs help us see what’s going on beneath the surface so we can guide your detox and healing from a place of knowledge, not guesswork.
Here’s what we’re testing, and why it matters:
🔬 Blood Markers + Vitamin D
Vitamin D is essential for hormone production, mood, and immune function. Most of us are low and don’t even know it.
💉 Iron Panel
We look at iron storage (Ferritin), usage, and transport. Low iron can leave you tired, anxious, cold, and foggy. High iron? That’s inflammatory too. Balance with other essential nutrients like vitamin A is also important.
🧠 Full Thyroid Panel
More than just TSH! We look at how well your thyroid is actually functioning — including autoimmune markers that are often missed in conventional testing. Your thyroid is your body’s energy thermostat.
🍬 Glucose, Insulin, A1c
These numbers show us how your body is managing blood sugar — a major root cause of hormone imbalance, weight struggles, cravings, and fatigue.
❤️ Cardiovascular Risk Panel
This is next-level heart and inflammation insight: we look at cholesterol types, particle sizes, inflammatory markers, and oxidative stress. This panel is especially important if you’re on birth control, have PCOS, or have a family history of heart issues.
🛡️ Immune Function: Total IgA
A peek into your gut’s front-line immune defense. Low IgA can show suppressed immunity; high levels may point to ongoing inflammation or gut dysregulation.
🌾 Gluten Genes + Antibodies
We assess for genetic sensitivity to gluten and your body’s current immune response to it. This isn’t just about celiac — it’s about clarity on how your gut and immune system handle gluten.
🧪 Complete Metabolic Panel
This gives us a full view of kidney, liver, blood sugar, and electrolyte status — the basics of your inner biochemistry and detox capacity.
🧬 MTHFR Gene
A key player in how your body processes B vitamins, detoxifies hormones, and clears inflammation. Knowing your genetic status helps us support your body better.
⚡ ANA (Autoimmune Screening)
We screen for signs your immune system may be attacking your own tissues — early detection here is empowering, especially for thyroid or joint symptoms.
🌊 Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids
The fats you eat show up in your cells. This test tells us if inflammation is more likely or if you’re getting enough of the healthy, hormone-friendly fats.
🧂 Urine Iodine + Hair Mineral Analysis
These show long-term exposure and storage of key minerals (and potential toxins). Iodine supports thyroid health. Hair testing helps us understand mineral patterns tied to energy, stress, metabolism, and detox capacity.
What about DUTCH Hormone Test and GI-Map Gut Health Test?
These are optional to add on right away, or later on in your journey. Many clients start with the Foundations while working on address their limiting beliefs and lifestyle. Through learning, clearing beliefs and creating a new level of confidence, they feel a major shift. Then if desired, GI-Map and DUTCH can be added on at any point.
